Budget and play limits: set them before you start

Practical rules for controlling time and money without trying to chase losses.

AT A GLANCE

Practical rules for controlling time and money without trying to chase losses.

Your budget is the upper limit

Set an amount whose loss will not affect bills, savings or everyday expenses. Stop playing once the limit is reached.

Do not chase losses

Increasing bets after a loss can quickly raise the cost of play. A loss does not create a debt to the game and does not have to be recovered.

Time limit

Set a session time and use reminders or limits available on the account. Long sessions make it harder to assess spending and emotions.

A break is a tool

If you find it difficult to stick to your own limits, take a break, use temporary exclusion or self-exclusion and seek professional support.
